PORTLAND, Ore. (April 12, 2017) – The No. 8 seed Portland Trail Blazers (41-41) will face the No. 1 seed Golden State Warriors (67-15) beginning Sunday in the First Round of the 2017 NBA Playoffs. Game 1 will be broadcast by ABC, while other First Round games will be televised by KGW Channel 8 and on the Trail Blazers Television Network. Rip City Radio 620-AM and the Trail Blazers Radio Network will have the radio call for all First Round contests.
Golden State will host Games 1 and 2 at Oracle Arena – Sunday, April 16 at 12:30 p.m. (PDT) and Wednesday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. (PDT). The series then swings to the Moda Center for Games 3 and 4 – Saturday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. (PDT) and Monday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. (PDT). If necessary, remaining games will take place Wednesday, April 26 (Golden State), Friday, April 28 (Portland) and Sunday, April 30 (Golden State).
Tickets go on sale at 3 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday) at trailblazers.com, Ticketmaster, or the Rose Quarter Box Office (M-F, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.). A maximum of four (4) tickets for each game are available to each customer, subject to availability. The NBA Playoffs bring an increase in ticket fraud schemes on the secondary market. Fans are encouraged to protect themselves — and guarantee their seats — by purchasing tickets directly from the team.
The Trail Blazers posted a 17-6 record since the beginning of March, second-best in the NBA behind only Golden State (17-5). Portland has qualified for the postseason in four straight seasons for the first time since 2000-03 and on 33 occasions in team history, fourth-most by any team since the Trail Blazers joined the NBA in 1970-71 (47 seasons).
The Warriors defeated the Trail Blazers, 4-1, in last year’s NBA Western Conference Semifinals. Damian Lillard averaged 31.8 points per game, the highest scoring average in a playoff series in Trail Blazers history.
