On April 1st, D.A. Dorsey Technical School was burglarized, with about $25,000 worth of computer equipment and close to $20,000 worth of auto mechanic tools stolen. As part of its Random Acts of HEAT presented by Ultimate Software initiative, the Miami HEAT made a monetary donation of $20,000 to assist in replacement of the stolen computer equipment. Microsoft also donated six Microsoft Surface Pro 4’s.
Random Acts of HEAT presented by Ultimate Software is a series of good deeds in the South Florida community meant to inspire individuals, families, organizations and communities to reciprocate kindness through random acts of their own. D.A. Dorsey Technical College has a rich and positive tradition in the Liberty City area of Miami. It was established in 1936 as the Miami Dorsey High School and 1970, its focus shifted to meet the needs of the adults in the community by becoming a fully operational adult center. D.A. Dorsey Technical College currently offers a full complement of adult basic education courses including an adult high school completion program that meets all credit requirements for a high school diploma as well as a General Education Diploma (GED) preparation course. Certificate programs are available for various vocational areas.
