Led by Lawson’s first triple-double of his career, the Kings dominated the visiting Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night for the team’s first home finale at Golden 1 Center.
Jumping out to a 10-point lead in the first 3 minutes, Sacramento lead wire-to-wire for the victory. The Kings used solid defense to limit the Suns to just 37.6 percent shooting and 26.7 percent from long distance for the game.
Lawson’s triple-double was his first of his career and the eight-year veteran did a masterful job of steering the trio of Sacramento rookies to solid nights.
Buddy Hield (career-high 30 points, 6 rebounds), Skal Labissiere (12 points, 6 rebounds) and Georgios Papagiannis (13 points, 7 rebounds) contributed to the 25-point win.
Prior to the game, Hield was presented his March Rookie of the Month award. No. 24 averaged 14.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game in the month.
Additionally, Garrett Temple was honored with the Oscar Robertson Triple-Double Award for his excellence on the court and in the community.
The Kings close the 2016-17 season on the road on Wednesday night against the Clippers at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
