In the opening contest of his team’s Euroleague’s postseason, Bogdan Bogdanovic scored a playoff career-high en route to a comeback victory.
Bogdanovic – whose rights were acquired by the Sacramento Kings in a trade last summer – has been a staple for his team, Fenerbahce Istanbul. In his first game of this year’s EuroLeague playoffs, the 24-year-old guard proved crucial to their success against Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens.
During the 71-58 triumph, Bogdanovic helped his team overcome a 14-point halftime deficit thanks to a tremendous all-around performance. He scored 23 points with four assists, five rebounds, two steals, and three blocks while also sinking five out of his six attempts from three-point range.
“We played excellent on defense – everyone contributed on offense,” said the 24-year-old following the win. “But this is just one game – it’s the playoffs and best of five so nothing is over.”
Panathinaikos, who suffered the loss, also happens to be the former squad of Kings big man Georgios Papagiannis. The rookie center attended Tuesday’s game to take in the action live.
