5 Things to Know About Saturday's Preseason Opener

START OF PRESEASON
The Warriors begin preseason play on Saturday night against the Denver Nuggets. This will be the first of four exhibition games Golden State will play in the preseason, and the first of two at Oracle Arena. The Dubs will play their other two preseason games on their upcoming trip to China. Watch the action on NBC Bay Area, or listen to the call on KBLX 102.9FM and the Warriors Radio Network.

EARLY START
The tipoff for Saturday’s game against the Nuggets is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. In fact, all weekend games at Oracle Arena this season will have early start times.

SHOW UP EVEN EARLIER
The game may start at 5:30 p.m., but fans should make sure to be in their seats by 5:25 p.m. in order to witness the on-court presentation of Draymond Green’s 2016-17 Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award.

DRAYMOND GREEN BOBBLEHEAD NIGHT
Aside from it being our first chance to see the 2017-18 Golden State Warriors play, there’s another reason you’ll want to be at Saturday’s exhibition. The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive their very own Draymond Green Limited Edition Bobblehead.

BASKETBALL IN SEPTEMBER?
If it feels like the Warriors are starting preseason play earlier than normal, well, it’s because they are. Saturday’s game will represent Golden State’s first game in September since 1980. Due to the regular season being lengthened by one week, the preseason has been both shortened and moved up.
