Fun facts from Kyle (and the Timberwolves PR team . .. Okay, mostly the Timberwolves PR team):
- Fifteen out of 25 players (60 percent) who were voted All Stars in 2017 were taken sixth or later.
- Minnesota has never improved its draft position through the lottery. The Wolves have remained at their pre-lottery position 10 times and received a worse draft pick eight times.
- The largest upset in the history of the draft lottery was in 1993 when the Orlando Magic (slotted 11th after a 41-41 season) won the top overall selection despite just a 1.52% chance. In 2008, the Chicago Bulls received the top overall pick despite entering the lottery with just a 1.7% chance, the second-largest upset ever. So, you’re saying there’s a chance . . .
Make sure to check back after the lottery for plenty of content on Timberwolves.com depending where the team’s pick is. Fingers crossed.
